EI has recently published an information leaflet about its Solidarity Fund.Established to assist member organisations in emergencies such as natural disasters, famine, war, persecution or other life threatening situations,the Fund has since been allocated to more than thirty support programmes.The most recent deployment of the Fund was for the school massacre in Beslan.

國際教育組織最近才剛出版了一本宣導小冊,介紹它的團結基金。此基金成立的宗旨,是在協助其會員組織處理危急狀況,如天災、飢荒、戰爭、迫害、或其他危及生命的狀況等。目前為止,此基金已被分配來支應超過三十個支援計畫,最近的一次是用在巴斯蘭的校園屠殺案上。

(二) 心情故事:


1.(globalization)全球化是個很重要的議題,連筆者今年考研究所皆納入英文作文考題,而所裡教授邀來演講的專家亦講此專題。全球化引申很多問題,各有利弊得失,然而如何在此全球化的世界中謀得一份工作,乃是大家要深思的問題。將自己“多角化經營”,擁有數技在身,就不怕失業。並且要有至全世界任何角落工作及購買世界各國的產品的體認。


2.「university」大學的學生被質疑素質滑落,有降至以前高中生程度之譏。數年前帶大學剛畢業的實習生,看其文章錯字連篇,而當教師徵選評審的評審委員亦搖頭大嘆素質的滑落之劇。筆者也認為研究生亦被嘆程度大不如前,論文錯誤百出,可得要好好加油了。老師及家長應嚴加督促、學生亦要多讀書,而非上大學是由你玩四年(取university的音)。部分學校用高退學標準,以淘汰不適任的學生,藉以督促在學學生用功讀書。身邊二好友之子皆因而被國立大學踢出來,一位已當完兵又重考回第一志願的名校就讀,回校後比以前更用功百倍;而另一位則認命得去當兵,為國效忠去了。


3.有能力者可以多救援貧窮或遭致生病、危險者,這也是公德一件。筆者同事每年替某印度學校籌募二十萬元台幣協助學生唸書,意義非凡。
